It was one thing to see her in the dream world and think it was real, but it was another to see her in real life and think it was a dream.
She was wearing that blue leather jacket, he'd seen this before. It didn't take a genius to realise this was when she'd been testing the dimension cannon. From afar, he watched her approach the TARDIS, touch it, and register it was slightly different. She frowned, knowing she was in the wrong time. He came up behind her softly.
She turned around. "You've changed."
"Do you like it?"
Rose grinned and threw her arms around him. He picked her up and spun her. "The bow tie, especially," she said into his ear.
"Fancy a look inside?" he asked, putting her down but not releasing her from his grasp.
She put a hand on his chest. "I can't. I've got to go."
He held onto it. "I know. You'll find me, don't worry. The universe is still here. The cannon will get you where you need to be. Don't give up."
She pressed a kiss to his lips.
